It's about healing...It's about saying, look, I'm taking responsibility for my life. Here's what happened to me as a child, and I'm not going to use that as an excuse for what I'm doing now as an adult. I'm going to look at it and heal it, release it, so it's no longer a block to me living my life.

Yeah, I want to be a thriver. I want to move from surviving to thriving, because there's a difference.

Kirby Cobb, a filmmaker from Kansas City, Missouri, is a survivor himself and wanted to do something to help others on their journey.

There are five men interviewed on camera; one being a therapist for male survivors, another being a therapist and survivor of clergy abuse, and the other three are men that are survivors with varying stories and were willing to tell them on camera.

All worked together on this project with the unified goal in mind to help others with their understanding of this issue and to help knock down the walls of isolation that most men feel they are trapped in.

The film is titled Shatterboy: Men Surviving Sexual Abuse and is 27 minutes in length. Its targeted market is that of therapy sessions, groups or training seminars that are just beginning to deal with the issues of men and sexual abuse.

With a time of 27 minutes it is positioned to play well within a one-hour therapy session, leaving enough time to process the information after the screening.

It can also play well at conferences and lectures as it is meant to be a smooth introduction into the topic, as well as letting the survivors that are watching know that they are not alone.
